The BACHELOR OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (BSEd) program at Isabela State University Angadanan Campus is a four-year course designed to prepare aspiring educators for the challenges of Secondary Education. This program was officially approved through Resolution No. 02, s. 2002 by the Board of Regents, and was granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC)with No. 018 dated August 4, 2014.
The BSED program aims to cultivate teachers who are not only highly competent but also proficient in the necessary skills required to effectively educate students. To achieve this, the program offers two specialized majors: Filipino and Mathematics. These majors are meticulously tailored to equip students with the knowledge and pedagogical skills required to excel in teaching these subjects at the secondary level.
The program’s commitment to excellence is highlighted by its successful accreditation journey. The BSEd program passed the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines accreditation for Level I and II in 2012 and 2016, respectively. Furthermore, it passed the AACUP accreditation Level III Phase 2 in 2021, reflecting its continuous dedication to maintaining the highest standards in education.
The main goal of the BSED Program is to develop professional educators and train individuals who possess competence, compassion, and confidence in order to make a positive impact on their communities through education by enhancing their qualifications through continuous academic and professional development, acquiring advanced training, embracing educational innovations, and honing their research capabilities.
It further aims to prepare and develop highly qualified basic education teachers and technology-skilled individuals through quality and well-rounded pre-service training in academic fields for a diverse community of learners.
The BSEd program has consistently demonstrated its ability to nurture highly skilled individuals, exemplified by the exceptional performance in the Licensure Examination for Teachers. In October 2022, the program achieved a remarkable First-Timer Passing Rate of 95.23%, marking the highest within the ISU system.
