The Office of the Vice President for Academics and Related Affairs (ARA) is led by Vice President for ARA Dr. Boyet L. Batang. He is a Full Professor with expertise on English Language Studies. Dr. Batang was the former Cluster Executive Officer of Isabela State University-Cabagan Campus.
Dr. Batang is a Faculty Exchange Lecturer at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Thailand. He also served as a National Senior Accreditor for the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.; and an Assessor for the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) of the Commission on Higher Education- Region 02. Dr. Batang also takes place as Peer Reviewer and distinguished member of Editorial Board of the following journals: Asia Pacific Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (CHED accredited journal); ASEAN Indexed International Refereed Journal; Asia Pacific Journal of Academic Research in Social Sciences International Refereed Journal; and Researchers World, an International Refereed Journal based in India. He was also a Commissioned Survey Researcher by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA).
Dr. Batang earned his BS Education major in English with Undergraduate Certificate in Reading Education at Philippine Normal University – Manila in 1998 as an Academic Scholar. He latter obtained his Master of Arts in Teaching major in English Language Arts at Philippine Normal University – Manila in 2002. Dr. Batang, then, earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) major in English Language Studies at The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas (Cum Laude) in 2010.
Mandate of the Office
As the University gears to be the leading University in the instructional delivery, the Office of the Vice President for Academic and Related Affairs continuously improve, design, and support the implementation of innovative, relevant, and diverse curricular programs to foster excellent University academic services.
In meeting this, the Office assures the rationalization of Academic Programs in order to broaden access to quality program offerings, that also serves as a means to the promotion of program quality standards. It also works for the enhancement of Quality Assurance (QA) through Outcomes-based and Typology-based Quality Assurance that would carry a modernized ISU education.
