In reference to the provisions of the Magna Carta of Women and PCW-NEDA-DMB Joint Circular 2012 on the preparation of GAD plans and budget, Isabela State University Angadanan Campus hosted the first session of the Research and Extension Cluster Capability Development on the utilization of Harmonized Gender & Development Guidelines (HGDG) 21 Sectoral Checklists and Deepening Session on using the Project Implementation and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation (PIMME) Checklist from February 9-10, 2023 at the Multipurpose Hall.
ISU researchers and extensionists, along with their Campus Directors of Research and Development, and Extension and Training Services from the Angadanan Campus, Echague Campus, and Jones Campus have gathered to attend the said event.
On day 1, Dr. Oscar G. Bangayan, ISU-AC Campus Administrator, welcomed everyone and expressed his gratitude for allowing Angadanan Campus to host the event.
“Through this workshop, we will be able to assess the organization and gender responsiveness and implement programs and projects while mainstreaming them to gender and development. Hence, all our research and extension programs and projects should be gender responsive in order to address gender equality,” said Dr. Bangayan.
It was shortly followed by the Rationale and introduction of the participants which was presented by ISU Echague Campus GAD Coordinator, Dr. Mariflor H. Devibar, and the introduction of the resource speaker, Dr. Jhamie Tetz Infante-Mateo, which was presented by ISU-AC Director for Extension and Training Services, Dr. Lilibeth L. Gumpal.
In sessions 1 and 2 of the program, Dr. Mateo conducted a Gender Analysis and Gender Analysis Tools Workshop, and an HGDG Sectoral Checklist and Workshop where the researchers and extensionists worked in groups.
On day 2, Dr. Romel B. Cristobal, ISU – AC Director for Research and Development recapped the events of day 1, followed by a workshop on applying HDG into Research and Extension Documents was conducted followed by the presentation and the critiquing of outputs.
ISU Cauayan Cluster, Ilagan Cluster, and Cabagan Cluster are set to conduct the training on February 13-14, 15-16, and 27-28, respectively.
