

Isabela State University- Angdanan Campus (ISU-AC) participated in the 11th International Conference on Education (ICEDU 2025), held from April 7–9, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference’s theme, “Cultivating Global Citizen Skills through Research and Education: Development of Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration,” aligns with the University’s commitment to global standards in quality education (SDG 4 – Quality Education) and academic excellence.
The event was co-hosted by the South South Triangular Education Consortium (SSTEC), Nord University in Norway, and Kasetsart University in Thailand.
The ISU-AC delegation was represented by Assoc. Prof. Franklin A. Samonte and Prof. Dr. Ronie G. Torres, who each presented their respective research studies. Assoc. Prof. Samonte presented “Performance, Outcomes, and Challenges of Research Centers at Isabela State University, Philippines,” which examined strategies to strengthen the University’s research culture and institutional performance. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Torres shared his study titled “Road Rudder: Analyzing Road Users’ Competency and Traffic Law Awareness as an Input to Road Safety Education Programs of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines,” which emphasized the importance of road safety education in promoting responsible and informed road behavior within the academic community.
Their active involvement reinforced ISU’s commitment to becoming a research-driven university within the ASEAN region. It also facilitated meaningful discussions, fostered international collaborations (SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals), and provided valuable insights into global education trends. The knowledge, best practices, and international networks gained from this conference will be utilized to enhance curricula, strengthen research services, and elevate the quality of academic outputs at the campus level.
