The Isabela State University–Angadanan Campus (ISU-AC) strengthened its commitment to advancing research and innovation through the participation of Associate Professor Franklin A. Samonte at the International Conference on Sustainability, Innovation, and Future Technologies (ICSIFT-25). The conference, held in Manila, Philippines, from March 21 to 23, 2025, gathered researchers, educators, and industry experts to exchange ideas and showcase emerging studies addressing global challenges through sustainable and technology-driven solutions.
At the event, Assoc. Prof. Samonte’s study with Asst. Prof. Marion B. Caraui and Mr. Mark Joseph Reyes, on “Application of Simple Nutrient Plus Vermitea on High-Value Crops for NFT Hydroponic System under Controlled Climatic Condition” was recognized with the Conference Best Paper Award.
Prof. Samonte also presented a second research study, “Development of an Industrial Motor Controls Trainer,” which aims to bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and practical application in technical and vocational education by providing a cost-effective and functional instructional tool.
Both research presentations contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2- Zero Hunger and SDG 9- Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Through participation in ICSIFT-25, ISU-Angadanan Campus continues to reinforce its commitment to research excellence, innovation, and sustainable development.
