Determined to take significant steps toward modernization and to create a more comfortable learning environment for students, Isabela State University-Angadanan Campus recently procured 40 air conditioning units for its classrooms. This initiative, led by Isabela State University President, Prof. Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, is part of a larger effort to enhance the comfort and well-being of both students and faculty during instruction.

The project was set in motion following a memorandum from Dr. Aquino, allocating funds through SB 164, with an initial approved budget of โฑ1,000,000. The contract was awarded at a total cost of โฑ776,880, well under the allocated amount. The project officially started in January 2024, based on the purchase order, with a targeted completion date of February 1, 2024. All 40 units were delivered ahead of schedule, with the final delivery arriving on January 25, 2024. These units were gradually installed over the course of the midyear.

At present, a large portion of the units has already been installed, particularly in the Industrial Education Building and Education Building, with only 10 units remaining. The remaining installations depend on adjustments to the campus’s electrical system, which will be upgraded by the Isabela Electric Cooperative (ISELCO) in the coming months. These upgrades are critical to ensure that the power supply can fully and safely accommodate all the new air conditioning units, ensuring both operational efficiency and safety.

Though not all units are operational yet, the installation marks a significant step toward modernizing ISU-AC’s infrastructure. Once all units are in use, they will dramatically improve classroom conditions, providing much-needed relief during the warmer months, benefiting both students and faculty alike. This project also directly supports the universityโs alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, creating an environment more conducive to learning and academic success. Additionally, by improving infrastructure, this initiative reflects a commitment to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
With the goal of equipping all classrooms with air conditioning units and ensuring that the entire campus benefits from these improvements, the administration kindly asks for the patience and understanding of students, stakeholders, and faculty as they work to bring this vision to full fruition.
This initiative highlights ISUโs proactive approach to campus development and its dedication to providing a comfortable, engaging, and sustainable atmosphere for education.
