With the opening of the new Food and Beverage strand, Isabela State University Angadanan Campus and Odizee School of Achievers signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 20, 2023, to further strengthen and develop Senior High School teachers’ skills in culinary arts and food service through Teaching the Teachers: A Food and Beverage Service Training program.

Odizee School of Achievers, Alicia, Isabela, has reached out to ISU-AC, specifically to the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, to make the partnership and the arrangement possible.

Dr. Oscar G. Bangayan, ISU- Angadanan Campus Administrator, and Assistant Professor Crist B. Bartolome, BSHM Program Chair, believe it is an excellent opportunity to further help and contribute to the community while expanding the campus’ linkages.

According to Asst. Prof. Bartolome, there will be 15 trainees in the program, and the training will be held every Friday within the span of 2 months. All BSHM faculty members will be assigned to discuss various topics and will be fully involved in the training process.

With the assistance of ISU-AC, the trainees will undergo an assessment under the Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA) at the end of the program.

Dr. Bangayan said that ISU-AC’s MOA with Odizee is not only restricted to a single year and that the campus will continue to provide services to the school in areas other than food and beverage for many years to come.

Asst. Prof. Bartolome added that he intends to offer the training program to other schools so that they may continue to impart their knowledge to be of service to fellow teachers within the community.
