Three Isabela State University – Angadanan Campus students won ₱6,000 worth of cash prizes during Region II’s 3-Day ASEAN Month Celebration via Zoom from August 26 -28, 2020, with the theme “Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN.”Ms. Kyla Grace Manggurit snagged second place with a cash prize of ₱3,000 and Ms. Neliza Macni won third place with ₱ 2,000 in the Essay Writing Category, while Ms. Gjia Jazelle Ruano got a ₱1,000 consolation prize for the Spoken Word Category.Dr. Oscar G. Bangayan, ISU-AC Campus Administrator, claimed the cash prizes on behalf of the participants, at the Commission on Higher Education office at Tuguegarao City on October 12, and officially handed them the prizes in the morning of October 30, 2020, at the Campus Administrator’s Office.In preparation for the abovementioned event, Dr. Bangayan, asked language teachers, Mr. Paulino Derilo, Mrs. Romelyn De Vera, and Ms. Deanne Angel Luis, to identify potential participants for both categories.Despite the restricted timeframe in making the compositions and the difficulties in terms of communication, the three Bachelor of Secondary Education students have promptly responded to the call.Ms. Luis rallied them up online to give a brief orientation regarding the mechanics of the category in which they were assigned to and in roughly 10 hours, all participants have managed to submit their outputs, which were then sent to CHED’s official email address. CHED later sent a verification of their awards via email a few weeks after the awarding ceremony, including the steps and the requirements needed to claim the prizes.
